I just watched *Network (1976) Sidney Lumet* in HD, written and produced by
Paddy Chayefsky, starring Faye Dunaway, Robert Duvall, Peter Finch, William
Holden and in this speech Ned Beatty. Awesome movie, piece of art,
fantastic acting, hilarious at times. 36 years ago, yet still totally
    relevant.

*Possibly my favorite scene in a movie full of the types of moments that
get clipped and put on Youtube.*

    Directed by Sidney Lumet.

  3. Comment by Vanessa Herbrechtsmeier:

It’s weird how the movie Network is still relevant to the current system
    despite the dated references.

  4. Comment by Scott McElreath:

It’s all about the money, money, money
They need your money, money money…

*+Nora Qudus** just posted an article about the NO GMO protests in the US
that are being largely ignored by the news networks here (*
    *https://plus.google.com/u/0/107404236133771732657/posts/UumtMMwtr8X**). An
article written, not so ironically, in the UK’s Guardian newspaper. It
reminded me of a scene I saw last night (for, about the bazillionth time)
    in the movie **Network**.*

Paddy Chayefsky knew *exactly* what was going to happen when he wrote this
so many years ago. And it *has* happened and *is* happening today.
    Brilliant and spot-on.

    Chayevsky.

One of the bast scenes in one of the best movies of the 1970’s, an era of
revolutionary American film-making. They rarely make ’em like this anymore.

This movie went from brilliant satire to prophetic epic. It’s genius will
    last forever.

I love this speech but the statement that money rules the galaxy and
universe is really disgusting. Humans are microscopic beings in a
multiverse that could care less about a rich man with a old fashion suit.
In the end of our monkey rock loving era, nature will win and there is no
way to get around entropy. It is amazing the conceit that powerful people
have with paper and rocks when they themselves return to basic atoms.
